Michelin Guide  “Michelin Red Guides have become widely known as the world’s most respected source of restaurant and hotel evaluations, with the famed Michelin stars serving as an international symbol of culinary excellence.” - Source  But from a vegetarian or especially vegan point of view the problem is that the Michelin Guides are "totally meat obsessed".
For example check the Michelin Guides for Europe, here for example. Great Britain & Ireland - 1700 selected restaurants only 3 vegetarian restaurants. Italy - 2300 selected restaurants only 1! vegetarian restaurant. A little bit better is the situation with the three Michelin Guides for North America.

San Francisco – 520 selected restaurants includes around 5 vegetarian / vegan restaurants.
New York City - 800 selected restaurants includes around 5 vegetarian / vegan restaurants.
Chicago - 750 selected restaurants includes ? vegetarian / vegan restaurants.
